A positive birth experience matters more
#vrikshambirthstory
Hi, I attended your march labor management webinar.
Here is my birth story.
9th april I woke up with wet panties and thought I pee’d in the bed, but through that day I had watery discharge. Visited the dr NST was normal , got an USG done AFI had dropped to 7-8 10th april the fluid discharge continued . 11 th apirl as well I was leaking . As NST was normal Doctor suggested to induce labour, he inserted a tablet vaginally at 12 noon . Active contractions started at 8pm , by 10pm there were very severe and I couldn’t bear the pain.
I asked for epidural but Doctor said we will wait till morning. Your labour management class helped me immensely in breathing through the pain I recollected and practiced every breathing exercise / squats and walking taught by you in class. Later I couldn’t bear the contractions so the Next day 12th april morning 6am I took epidural when I was 6cm dilated.
Pain got better but I was confined on a small surgical bed in the OT where I was only allowed side lying and back lying positions. By 11 pm I progressed to 8cm . But the feral heart rate was dropping during contractions and increasing in between contractions
Also the baby’s head was in caput. Being a Doctor myself I knew this is a call for C -section . I had sad tears in my eyes but also remembered your words that every birth is beautiful and positive birth experience is more Important than type of birth .
The staff was so helpful and encouraging me to push . But they couldn’t allow me to go in squat or on all fours . At 11.53 am I gave birth to beautiful baby boy. And today 5 days post partum I’m doing fine. Thank you so much for conducting these educational classes.
Though I’m a Doctor and knew all about birth, your classes were very knowledgeable and practical.
