Vaginal birth at 35 weeks
#vrikshambirthstory
Hi Anu Akka, I’m your Sep 3rd and 4th labor management student. My husband and myself attended your 1st session and felt very confident about the delivery process. On the next day, i.e., the 4th of September I had dysentery in the morning by 7, and also I had stomach pain. With the first session knowledge, I came to know that it was a contraction and I started counting the gap between the contraction. I informed my husband about the same and we went to the hospital after a hot shower.
It was a Sunday and I was in my 35th week. Meanwhile, on the way to the hospital, I was listening to your 2nd-day session but couldn’t continue listening till the end. My doctor was out of the station, so I called her and told her about the symptoms. She sent her friend to the hospital, and she examined me and my cervix was soft.
We waited for an hour and the contraction continued, so she sent me to another multi-specialty hospital since the hospital I visited didn’t have a NICU facility for a 35week baby. I was calm and composed and talking to the baby. I had all the courage that “ALL IS GOING WELL & I TRUSTED MY BODY AND MY BABY”. In that hospital NICU was full so they couldn’t support me. They examined me and I was 2cm dilated.
I called my gynecologist and she asked me to visit another hospital and she made everything ready over there. This particular hospital had an exclusive NICU unit. I had my lunch on the way to the hospital and I was very cool. I got admitted and I was 3cm dilated by that time.
They prepared me for delivery and I completed my dinner and my mom rushed from my native. My hubby and mom were my birth supporters. They massaged me and were very supportive the whole night. I did breathing exercises throughout my contractions and I stayed hydrated.
When my contractions were intense my nurse didn’t believe that I am in my active phase since I was calm. My water broke by 2.30 am and by 4.30 am, I started getting the feel to push and I informed the nurses. They rushed me to the labor room.
When the nurse examined me, I was fully dilated. By 5.20 am, I birthed a girl baby vaginally without any medical intervention with just 3 big pushes. My Baby was in NICU for 20 days for respiratory distress. She was fed with my pumped breast milk.
Also, I donated my breast milk for another NICU baby which made me feel proud. My birth journey was a smooth and calm one which I will cherish forever. Thank you for being a part of it. ❤️
