10 years of diabetes and a vaginal birth
#vrikshambirthstory
Hi. I’m your prepregnancy and early pregnancy class student.
Here I’m sharing our sweet pregnancy journey. I’m type 1 diabetic since 2012 and I’m on Insulin since then till now. We got married on 2018 November.
on 2019 1st January we confirmed the pregnancy. We were so so happy. Everything went well until 15 weeks. On the 16th week, the baby was diagnosed with bilateral ventriculomegaly and we ended up our 1st pregnancy on April 1st, 2019. Then we decided to have a gap to plan for the next pregnancy. By the time we were planning, I was diagnosed with PCOS. The doctor suggested some tablets to regularize my periods.
On September 16th, 2020 the miracle happened. Yes, we were pregnant. Every scan was very nervous and with continuous prayer and faith, everything went well. I did walking, exercise, household chores, travel, and a whole day shopping for my brother’s wedding without any hesitation. I believed in my body.
At 38+3 weeks, I was induced for labour. After 22 hours of labour, I delivered my laddoo boy on May 15th at 7.26 pm through normal delivery. His weight was 2.830kgs. I did deep squats and ball exercises while I was in labour pain. We did skin-to-skin contact immediately and delayed cord clamping. I breastfed my lil son within 1 hour after delivery. Nothing stopped me from having a healthy delivery. Even 10 years of diabetes failed in front of my belief about my body, exercise, and healthy food habits.
He regained his birth weight within 2 days. I exclusively breastfed him for the first 6 months and now he is going to complete his 1st year. He is breastfeeding now without any issues and is super healthy. I wish I should breastfeed him as much as possible. Believe in your body and follow a healthy lifestyle.
