Hello Anu Akka,
I’m your pre pregnancy, early pregnancy and labour management student from Mangalore.
I gave birth to my baby girl vaginally on May 23rd, 2022. I would like to share my pregnancy and birth experience with you.
I am very fortunate that my husband and I were able to conceive as soon as we decided it was time for us to have a baby. My pregnancy journey was also very smooth. I was healthy, happy, able to eat what I wanted without any issues. There was one time I had acute food poisoning in 4th month of pregnancy, my baby helped me recover from it within 12 hours! Usually, it takes around 2 days at least to recover from food poisoning! But my divine baby has always taken care of me when she was in my womb. She made sure I remained healthy, comfortable and fit. I practiced yoga throughout my pregnancy and my yoga teacher was astonished to see my level of flexibility and fitness throughout. I give all the credit to my baby.
Coming to the delivery part of my journey, my doctor found out that my amniotic fluid index had fallen from 12 to 7 on 21st May, 2022. She told me that whatever is the case, we have to deliver the baby on 23rd, else it is going to be risky.
I was mentally preparing myself for inducing labour process on 23rd May, 2022, but my baby had other plans. I started getting labour pains on 22nd May night. They were not intense, hence I slept through the night not realising that I had labour pains. Next day on 23rd May, I reported to hospital at 6:30 am per my doctor’s suggestion to induce labour. I was then told that I was 4cm dilated! My husband and I were surprised!
Then pain got more intense but my husband stood by me and supported me in all ways possible, encouraging me positively. Around 9:30 am, I was 7cm dilated. So, I was shifted to labour theatre.
After around ten minutes the pain got severe and my doctor asked me to push. I was not able to focus initially during the first push. Then I gathered all my strength and channeled it in the second push and my baby girl was out!! Within 15 minutes into labour theatre, she was out!
I firmly believe my child is truly divine and has taken care of every single aspect of my pregnancy and labour and made me go through minimum pain and discomfort as possible. I consider myself truly blessed and privileged to be a mother to this truly divine baby!
I thank you for your guidance throughout pregnancy journey and giving me confidence to go through this phase.
