Ovarian cancer during Pregnancy and Vaginal birth
#mylifelessonsbyanu
“This strong mother found out she was pregnant at the age of 21 and also found out she had ovarian cancer. At 19 weeks of pregnancy, she had surgery to remove the tumour and her right ovary. After that, she did chemotherapy. She finished chemo two weeks before her due date and water to stick to her birthing plan of giving birth in a birth centre. She tried hard to birth at a birth centre, but after over 20 hours of labour, she had to transfer to the hospital. In the hospital, she got an epidural and some much-needed rest and birthed vaginally. Mama and baby are doing fine.”
Omg! when I read the above story on @saraannphoto , it brought tears. For now, I know how hard pregnancy can be with all the physical and emotional changes and when you have to battle it along with cancer, it is a different ball game. I just gazed at the picture of this mother who looked like nothing less than a goddess to me; thinking about what she went through sent a shiver through my spine. This mother is a symbol of strength and stands as testimony to the power of a woman and her body! Every woman has a power, a power she will unleash when it comes to her child’s safety.
To this woman, mother and goddess, I salute!
