You are untouchable for 30 days

Treating women as untouchable for 30 days after giving birth.
When a woman has given birth, she is being treated like untouchable. She has to be confined to a room. She should only stay in that room. And she is given a separate plate. I don’t know how people can treat women like that after giving birth to a beautiful baby after a 9 months of pregnancy and lot of labor pain. This is the procedure for 30 days.
I don’t how people in our society still follow all this nonsense. I couldn’t stay in a room because of all this postpartum depression. When I say, I want to walk, they are telling to walk inside in that room. And they say it like until 30 days you have to be very careful. Isn’t that women have rights to go around in free air too? And they also won’t let your husband near you while breastfeeding. (Avan patha kannum patrumam).
Being in a room, makes me feel lonely and very much depressed. I don’t know how much ever I try, I am not able to handle this. I feel like crying always when ever I am away from my baby. And am missing my husband like anything which I cannot describe in words.
Even though he is near me other times except breastfeeding, I want to him to realise how beautiful the bond is between mother and baby during breastfeeding. And I expect both father and mother enjoy breastfeeding and share the baby chores. Anu akka please voice this out. I don’t want any other women to feel left out and depressed like this.
This untouchability thing is killing me like anything. Hope in future, our society get rid of all these nonsense practices.
