It didn’t go as we expected But we had a great birthing experience
#vrikshambirthstory
Here is my birth story:
It started on 27th Aug after dinner around 10 PM when me and my husband were in bed having some funny conversation when I had my first contraction and thought it to be Braxton hicks and we started laughing. Soon after I asked my husband not to make me laugh as I feel like peeing and I immediately rushed to washroom. I was not sure what’s happening but my husband (who before attending your classes was clueless about his role in pregnancy and birth) was sure enough that my water broke and he immediately grabbed sanitary napkins and a thermometer and came to washroom to support me. He checked my body temperature and gave a call to hospital and explained the entire situation to midwife and then she asked us to come to hospital for swab test.
We went by bus as hospital was not far and I was fine enough to walk and stand. After reaching hospital we found that I am already 2 cm dilated and the midwife suggested us to stay in hospital as it was already midnight. Slowly my contractions became stronger and around 3am I was in lot of pain so midwife suggested for hot water tub and I went there it was quite relaxing and I was there till 6 AM and got 6cm dilated. By 10 Am I was 9 cm dilated and everything was fine till then bearable. The only problem was with each contraction I vomited and passed on stool so my stomach was entirely empty and I couldn’t even drink a sip of water because it would come out. So, after 10AM I started feeling strong pain in my tailbone when we realized baby is sunny side up and I am getting pressure on my back but I was able to bear the pain because of your breathing techniques which my husband remembered and started doing it along with me.
After 10AM it took 2 hours to reach 10cm dilation and it was painful my midwife suggested for epidural around 12 but by the time everything was set up I was fully dilated and my baby had turned and Dr said there is no need for epidural now as it’s time to push. For this whole two hours from 10-12 my husband gave me nonstop back massage which was very relaxing. After 12PM I started pushing doctors, midwife and my husband could see baby’s hair but trying for 1.5 hours nothing happened and then doctors decided for episiotomy and tried suction to take the baby out but didn’t work as well. So after 2 hours of pushing Dr decided for C-sec which I didn’t want but it had been two hours of pushing and Doctors said we have to go for it although baby heartbeat and my was fine but it took too long so around 2 PM they started preparing the OT and with our concern my baby boy was finally born at 3:33PM via CSec.
It didn’t go as expected but I had a great experience as I went through all sort of birthing technique and I nailed it just because of your knowledge that my husband remembered and supported me throughout the labor.
Thank you so very much for your help and assistance. You are an angel 👼
