My husband was an amazing birthing partner
#vrikshambirthstory
Hi Anu.
By the way we are blessed with a baby girl. So many things we learned in Ur class helped out. Early and active all together it was a 46-hour labor. Jul 31st 11.30 pm pain slowly started to kick in at 20 min intervals. Then soon it went to 5-1-1 but never dilated more than until Aug 2nd morning and we got sent back to home thrice before getting admitted on Aug 2nd at 4cm dilation.
I kept walking, squatting, duck waking, rocking and all that and hit 7cm dilation by 3pm. Though the doctor was about to break water, as I dilated 7 cm he held back. Having the baby at sunny side up position gave a challenging pain that I didn’t expect. All natural except for a manual water break at 8th cm dilation which I was totally ok with considering my energy level. At 9.5 to 10 cm my energy was almost 0. I have no clue how I got the energy to push my girl out. It was in 1.15 hours pushing time we had her.
Breathing techniques really helped, though we couldn’t follow all pushing things we learnt due to practice and stuff what specific doc and nurse offer as I wanted to go with the flow and have a healthy birth team with less conflicts. Thanks to God and First person I should thank is my husband for being an amazing partner throughout this birthing journey and never could have asked for a better person in my life. It added a new meaning to my life. I would tell anyone and everyone, have your partner with u at such moments it added whole lot meaning to our life. Second to the birthing team I got 🙏🏼🙏🏼.
And finally, you, once again thanks for educating with terms and things we could possibly expect in pregnancy and labor. It helped so much to understand and follow what the nurses and doctors are talking about to ask questions and choose options you are comfortable with rather than blindly following. Your page is like a one stop shop for me on any issues. continue doing this great work. God bless you and your family!
And one more important information is that we declined cord banking option and requested for 2 to 3 min delayed cord clamping. And yes, doc and nurse agreed to our request and got us 3 min delayed cord clamping.
