In 3hrs of Labor Pain
#vrikshambirthstory
Hi Mam, here comes my little girl’s birth story.
I’m your July Labour Management student and I gave birth to my little one vaginally.
On sep 9th morning 06:00am sharp, my water broke in my sleep. First I was not sure whether it is true that my water broke. And secondly my mom was not home that day, me and my husband didn’t want to tell her and make her worry because she was all there during my whole pregnancy days, she may feel guilty for leaving me. But after one hour of thinking, my husband said since it is our first pregnancy, let’s go to the hospital and make sure what has happened.
So we went, and my gyno said to stay in the hospital since I may get pain any time. We stayed in the hospital the whole day, but there is no improvement. Then on 10th sep, my gyno advised for epidosin (head fixed at that time) followed by labour induction via oxytocin on 11th sep 12:40pm.
But till 04:30pm, I didn’t get pain, so the doctor advised and asked consent to break amniotic fluid for the pain to come or else I should be operated.
I was ready for both the modes of delivery, but still we were put in pain. But by God’s grace, within seconds of breaking my fluid at 4:55pm, pain started.
At 7pm, I was 6cms dilated. I was able to tolerate the contractions using the magical breathing techniques you taught during the class. But once I was shifted to the labour room at 8cms, I started crying and the doctor advised me not to cry and save my energy for pushing. I did the same.
At 7:40pm, I started pushing and at 07:51pm my sweety arrived in our lives with a beautiful cry. She was 3.3kgs at birth.
It was just 3hours of labour and I can’t believe I managed the pain with the techniques you taught. Even while attending the classes, I thought it won’t be easy to follow these techniques during that much pain. But with regular practice, the exercises, the walking I did everyday and with your golden mantra of ‘trust your body’ I was able to manage my labour with confidence.
We are really grateful to you mam. My husband was not allowed with me inside the ward. But whenever he managed to come inside, the only thing he said to me was “Stay strong, you can do this. Do Anu mam’s breathing techniques.”
We are thankful to you mam. Keep up the good work. Lots of love to you, Ahan, Ayan and the whole family.
