#vrikshambirthstory

I had attended Anu Akka’s labour management class to begin with during my 5 months of pregnancy followed by breast feeding class and which was also followed by infant care class…
I was basically not aware of any of the details regarding pregnancy, I literally had zero knowledge but now I have a 1.5 months old baby through normal delivery(with epidural).
After attending Akka’s labour mgmt class I literally had the confident that I knew what was labour and also what were the facts and what were myths. also I basically wanted to attend the class since when ppl tell me something I wanted to have the knowledge to know what to believe and what not to believe. also I was happy I learn something new and that ppl now have the facility to learn and know what’s happening to their body and what need to be done or what and how our body will be taking care of itself.
The same goes about breast feeding and infant care knowledge I gained too.. when we get our facts and myths right especially regarding pregnancy it gives a boost to our self confidence. So any pregnant women in the world should enlighten herself along with her partner about the varied stages of parenthood.
Now coming to my pregnancy and labour journey. I came to know I was pregnant after a month of my pregnancy. I had nausea for 1.5 months(till my 3rd month),during this time I wasn’t a pleasant person to be around. The 2nd trimester like many call it the honeymoon phase of pregnancy I started virtual pre natal yoga(I have been practicing on and off since childhood but I learnt and was successful with a hand and head stand during pregnancy, yoga was a huge part of my pregnancy. Practice yoga during pregnancy with a yoga instructor only at all times during my 7month I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and my knowledge had to develop again. I knew the term gestational diabetes only through anu Akka’s class but I didn’t research further on that but time came I had to have knowledge on that, change my diet, no more sweets…I had a lot of sweet cravings but at that point I had to control it with food, prick (a person scared of needles😓 )myself daily 4 times to check my blood sugar levels.. then I couldn’t control over food alone I was given tablet and also I had to stick very strictly to my diets or else the levels would rise.
With gods grace and blessings my baby‘s weight and all other factors of pregnancy during each month was normal and so was my sugar levels with medication, I really am thankful to god that my health didn’t go to the level of taking insulin shots on my own 😅thinking of it now also gives me chills.
My labour started exactly on the delivery date given by my doctor. I was in Labour for 11 hours my husband and mom were with me…
I woke up at 5am and I had slight bleeding and mild pains that’s when I realised I am having pains Bt to make sure it was labour pains I started timing my contractions for an hour and it was very 5 mins.. we started form home at 6am..the emergency doctor came at 8:30 to check on me and she said I was 4-5 cm dilated…lying or sitting was worsening my contractions and as I learnt in the class I started walking to and for in the labour room along with my husband who was holding the hot pack on my bag…after 7cm of dilation at 11am I started vomiting during contractions and the pains were really painful compared to when it started and I was forgetting what I should be doing during the contractions and them the mid wife reminded me to breathe out slowly. aft 7 cm of dilation and vomiting thrice, I couldn’t walk. the pain was bad then my doctor had come and she suggested I take epidural bcoz in the later stage if things get worse they wouldn’t be able to give me that, taking epidural is no joke Bt trust me at that time your courage jus builds up. I held my husbands hand so tight and didn’t think about the pain or the contraction I was going to get…since what ever happens I had to hold still for the epidural. phew
After that dilation was slower by 1pm I was 8 cm dilated and I could feel nothing below my hip.at 1:30 the mid wife broke my water. At 3:30 I was 10cm dilated, after half hr of pushing at 4pm..popped out my baby and on my chest…
It was truly love at first sight🥰

Pls enlighten yourself about what your body goes through and also make yoga an integral part of your pregnancy journey (both pre and post natal)
