My husband was my ideal birth partner
#vrikshambirthstory
Hi Anu akka,
I am your early pregnancy, labor management, and breastfeeding webinar student. I and my husband attended all your sessions together. Guess what he was so eager, he took notes and he made sure he followed all the steps that you had mentioned religiously.
My greatest fear right from the beginning was going through labor. I even thought that I might die in the process😂😂. But after attending your session my husband started giving me all the confidence and he always says “we need only oxytocin and not catecholamines” (post attending your labor management session).
I used to do all the exercises mentioned by you all through my pregnancy and my workout partner was my husband who kept motivating me. On November 30th morning I was not able to workout nor feel alright. Had terrible back pain which I thought was the cause of my mattress and ignored. Later that day I had pain starting from my abdomen and moving towards my back which was very mild. I neither told my mom nor my husband. Dint want them to panic.
Towards evening the pain started getting quite intense that I had to tell people at home. Also, the app that you mentioned was very useful because initially, it kept saying no need to worry. But around 10 pm while I tracked my contractions, it said that it was time to pack my hospital bag.
I did start packing. My husband was constantly reminding me about the breathing techniques you taught which was such a blessing. We reached our hospital around 10 pm when my doctor checked and said I was 3 cm dilated.
That’s when my pain started to kick in and I really got nervous. He carried the notes that we took during your session and glanced through what exactly had to be done. Your session is not just an eye-opener for the mother but a very huge blessing in disguise for all the dads to be. 5 hrs in labor with the help of my husband, I pushed out my daughter vaginally using your breathing techniques on dec 1 around 4 am.
Thanks to my husband for being a constant support for me.
