#vrikshambreastfeedingjourney

Hi Anu Akka,
I know you are busy today with all functions. But still wanted to share this happy news with you today and cant wait any further. Today my baby and myself are successfully completing 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding. Its all because of the awareness i gained from you akka.

My journey of breastfeeding was not so easy. 25 days postpartum i was diagnosed with bilateral breast abscess due to oversupply issues.

Due to lack of symptoms like fever, pain I was not able to identify what was happening with my body. Finally i ended up performing surgery on both my breast. Everyone in my family asked me to stop feeding. But i was very sure not to do so.

I know that issue was with oversupply and not lack of supply. So even if i stop feeding i will suffer because of engorgement. I continued to feed my baby soon after the surgery. The pain of like hell akka. But i know whats good for my baby. In consequent check-ups i was so happy that my baby’s weight gain was really good like 1kg per month.

God didnt stop testing me there. 2 months postpartum my entire family tested covid positive. I was really worried about my baby than myself. I checked with my pediatrician if i can breastfeed my baby. With go ahead from my doctor i continued to feed. I had severe body pain and the surgery was also not healing well because of covid. With so much of difficulty i managed to take care of my baby all alone for 14 days.

Though it was so tiring, I enjoyed being with my baby throughout the day. Soon after recovering from covid, i had my breast stitched since it was not healing on its own. Continued to feed my baby.

And now we are here completing 6 months of ebf. I have no plans to stop it any sooner. Thank you so much akka. Its all because of your efforts in creating awareness for moms like us. If not i would have surely fallen into the trap of elders easily.
