Every time a baby cries, we need to try and understand the baby’s problem and address it. Not just blindly assume that the baby is hungry. Babies typically cry when they are hungry, have a gassy stomach, feel sleepy, disturbed from baby.

Half knowledged woman NEED to understand this and respect the new mom when she says that the baby is full and is crying for a different reason.

I was suggested to use formula saying that my baby cries because I don’t have enough feed. They mean well, but they need to be educated. If you are attending a workshop on breastfeed, meeting with the lactation consultant….tag that mom/aunt/sister along. You would be doing yourself a favor.

It puts the new Mom’s morale down and make her feel guilty when everybody around makes her feel like she is the reason why the baby is crying. I think as long as my baby is gaining good weight, stops crying when his irritant is addressed…he has enough feed.

Do NOT fall for formula because of others as long as you have enough milk and the baby is healthy.
