#vrikshambirthstory, Hi Anu Akka, I am your Early Pregnancy and Labor Management, student. I delivered my baby girl on Jan 11th through the section.

Here is my story.

I was 93 kilos when I got pregnant. Just 4 days before confirmation of my pregnancy my MIL got her leg fractured and was bedridden for 2 months. My husband was busy with his job change. My FIL’s elder brother was dealing with cancer in the final stage and also had my husband’s grandpa at my home to be taken care of. Due to this, I had a lot of things to handle alone. Had a lot of visitors to see my MIL, so in hosting them and managing the housework I lost 4 kilos in a month. I didn’t have any vomiting or fatigue and was able to eat my meal without any problem.

As I was overweight my doctor always asked me to keep control over my weight gain just for fear of GD and other problems. I was active throughout my pregnancy in such a way that everyone wondered whether I carried a baby in my womb or not. I was working out before pregnancy so it was easy for me to follow your workout schedule. I was 103 kilos on the day of my delivery.

Here are the delivery details.

My baby’s head didn’t fix in the pelvis though it was 40 weeks complete. So, fearing meconium stain on waiting further due to my overweight my doctor decided to go for induction. I got admitted to the hospital at 8 am. And started with all the procedures for induction.

By 10:30 am I was 1 cm dilated and NST was good so it was decided to go for another round of tablets at 12 pm. At 12:30 pm my NST was not good also a dip in the report, so they gave me fluids through a trip and asked to get another round of NST at 2 pm, during which there was again a dip in the report also baby head was not fixed by then.

My doctor asked us to go for c section fearing a meconium stain or cord around the neck of the baby. My husband decided to stay in the OT with me and I was relieved that he will be with me.

There were 2 tight rounds of Cord around the neck which didn’t allow her to descend for normal delivery. And was taken out vacuum assisted. The baby was breastfed in the OT within one hour of birth. It took me 15 hours to take baby steps on my own. And 24 hours to hold my baby in my arms. It took me 6 weeks to convince myself about it was ok to go with the surgery for the good of my baby.

After attending your session, I was talking with my doctor in medical terms. She was surprised and also happy about my confidence which allowed me to stay positive throughout the journey. Thank you for your service and positive effort to strengthen many pregnant moms as pregnancy is always loaded with tons of myths and fear. Lots of love to you and your family. Keep empowering us ❤️
