IUGR baby and Vaginal Birth
#vrikshambirthstory Hi Akka, I am your November labor management student. On Feb 26th, 2022 I delivered a baby boy through vaginal birth. All thanks to you Akka.
Initially, before registering for your session I had a thought like is this really that helpful, but now I feel like my delivery has gone very smoothly just because of your session and your words. In the 7th month of pregnancy, doctor said that my baby’s weight is not at the normal rate and birth weight will be low. Due to this, I was advised to have frequent scans and check-ups to monitor the baby’s health and growth.
During the 38th week, the doctor advised for delivery as it may not be safe for the baby anymore as my AMI ratio is reducing. The doctor also mentioned that we can try for induced labor. On Feb 26th we planned for induced labor and I have admitted to the hospital that morning. At 11:00 AM they have induced and mild pains got started and slowly the intensity is getting higher. Parallelly I am doing my breathing exercises to overcome the pain.
At 12:30 PM the doctor said I was 3 cm dilated and I continued doing breathing exercises. My husband was also doing breathing exercises along with me and supported me a lot. At 3:15 PM the pains wear unbearable and I am still trying to bear them, seeing me doctor suggested to take an epidural and I said OK.
Before giving the epidural doctor checked the dilation and said there is no need for an epidural, I was 8 cm dilated and the baby’s head started coming out. The doctor and nurses were in hurry in arranging things for delivery. Only with just 4 pushes, my baby boy came into this world at 3:51 PM. Even though it was IUGR my baby was born healthy but low weight.
Your breathing techniques really helped a lot to handle the pain. Thanks a lot Akka
Thank you,
Prameela
