Hi Akka I’m our pre-pregnancy and labor management student. I was really skeptical about getting pregnant easily because I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and pcod in my teenage years. But by god’s grace and after attending your pre-pregnancy session, I made a few changes in my lifestyle. Soon I conceived.

I had no problems like diabetes or blood pressure, I was able to keep my thyroid under check also. I attended your labor management classes to prepare myself for labor. On the 26th of march evening, I noticed that I was leaking continuously. It felt odd, so I contacted my gynae and she suggested getting a scan done immediately. I went for a scan and got to know that it was amniotic fluid leaking and I was 1cm dilated already.

I was at 31 weeks. I and my family were very scared as it was very early for my baby to arrive! I was immediately admitted to the hospital and I was given steroids to help my baby’s lungs to mature. I was also given medicine to avoid getting contractions.

The doctor said that the medications can only be administered for 2 days and after that, I should deliver whenever I get pain. I leaked for these 2 days continuously, my AFI dropped from 23 to 9 by 28th March. The scan showed the baby was in a cephalic position. FHR was continuously monitored. After the dosage of steroids and painkillers, I started having contractions by 11:30 pm on March 28th. It progressed and I was shifted to the labor room by 1:30 am when I was fully dilated.

My son was born at 2 am on March 29! It was a miracle because I was 31 weeks 3 days and he weighed 2.26kgs. He developed Respiratory distress, so he was given oxygen pressure. He spent the next 5 days in the NICU facility and came home all perfectly. He has been achieving all milestones Just like how a full-term baby would reach. He is a miracle baby, even the Pediatrician was surprised by his birth weight. All this was possible because of “trust your body” mantra.

Even though these days were filled with anxiety, I wholeheartedly believed that my body would nourish and help my baby grow. He was born through vaginal delivery. Everything worked itself out just perfectly. Very grateful for your aid in our memorable journey akka.
