From Vaginismus, PCOS, cervical cerclage, and finally to vaginal birth.

Hi Anu akka. You are the main reason I am holding my son today. I can’t thank you enough for all the awareness you provided. I have attended every session of yours right from pre-pregnancy to Infant care.

I am married for a little over 3 years now. For almost 2 years of my marriage, I always associated sex with fear and pain. Every time we tried, I would give up in between because of the pain and I am thankful to my husband for being very understanding. I used to blame myself for this and didn’t know this was a medical condition till I attended your pre-pregnancy class, post which we consulted a doctor and sought help.

Even during this phase, my family thought I was exaggerating things and couldn’t bear even the basic pain. Thanks to your classes, I had my husband by my side always. I also had PCOS, so went through a follicular study to conceive.

I followed your diet suggestions and exercises during 1st trimester. During the week 22 scan, I was diagnosed with a short cervix measuring 1.8 cm and was advised to go through cerclage immediately to avoid premature delivery.

I reached out to you and your positive words gave me hope. I was on complete bed rest till week 34 with progesterone supplements. My only thought was to deliver a full-term baby. After 34 weeks, I again started all your exercises. With your diet suggestions, I only put on 9 kgs during my entire pregnancy.
At 39 weeks and 2 days, my water broke. Again, thanks to your labor management class, I didn’t panic and took a note of the COAT, and reported it to the doctor. The baby had passed grade 1 meconium but the doctor suggested we can try for a vaginal birth as I was 4 cm dilated.

My whole family was surprised to see how calmly I handled the entire situation. After 5 hours of labor, I delivered a baby boy vaginally. During my labor, I kept reminding myself to trust my body and my baby. Your breathing exercises and sipper bottle technique were very useful even during the active labor phase.

Thank you so much Akka for motivating all of us. Very happy and proud to call myself a vriksham mommy.
