I wouldn’t have completed this journey without my partner
#vrikshambirthstory
Hi akka.
I’m Krishna Priya from Hyderabad and I’m your pre-pregnancy, early pregnancy, labor management and infant care student.
I’d love to share my birthing story with you akka. I’m so glad that I attended your all sessions especially the labor management webinar. Thank you for all the advices and information that you provided.
As per your suggestion and advice, we consulted Fernandez hospital right from the starting of our pregnancy and the hospital also took very good care of everything.
Here’s my birth story akka. On 26th April, I started having mild contractions around afternoon 4 but as it was more like period cramp, I didn’t bother more about and thought could be false pains as my contractions were not much continuous.
Then around 8/9 pm, the intensity of the pain increased and I informed my husband about it and he called the hospital and they told us to come to hospital and get the NST done.
We were in a dilemma weather to go to hospital or not as we thought that they could also be false pains. My husband took the initiative and said that we must go to hospital and get the NST done.
We started to the hospital and there got our NST done and it was normal. The midwife checked and informed us that I was 1.5 cms dilated at around 2:45 am which I was not at all expecting and we decided to stay at hospital rather than going home. I had no sleep the whole night because of the pains and the situation was getting intense hour by hour
But was doing the breathing exercises that you taught in the class. In the morning I had a little breakfast and at around 11:30, my midwife checked and informed that I’m just 2 cms dilated and I felt so bad and disheartened that even going through so much pain I was only dilated 0.5 cms since 2:45 am
After that I did walking and ball exercises with the help of my husband but my pain was getting worse. At around 2pm, my contractions increased and I started getting contractions every 2 minutes and I couldn’t bear the pain and asked for a pain killer and they gave me an injection for the pain which didn’t work on me at all but your breathing techniques were helping me throughout my contractions and my husband was there with me throughout this journey and he was my support system.
As soon as my contractions were starting, my husband came forward and reminded me to just breathe and focus on my breathing and supported he me throughout my labor. I’d always be grateful for having such a birthing partner by my side who didn’t leave me even for a minute.
This continued and my contractions were getting really bad and around 5 pm, I was having such bad contractions that my husband told the nurse to call a doctor or a midwife to check on me. Then a doctor came and she mentioned that I’m 8 cms dilated and that I need to be taken to the labor room immediately.
Then I was rushed to the labor room and I had my midwife present for the delivery. She encouraged me and told me to push as hard as I could with every contraction I had. Finally with my husband’s and my midwife’s support and an episiotomy, our little princess came into this world at 5:44 pm within 4-5 pushes.
Thanking you from the bottom of my for reminding me that I need to trust my body and my baby and that would make it easy for me during the labor akka.
My mother couldn’t believe that I had a vaginal delivery without even taking an epidural. And in the whole journey, I’ve 2 people to thank, you and my husband. I thank you for sharing all the knowledge and my husband who attended the labor management session with me and was there the whole time making me strong by his continues care and motivation without even complaining once, wouldn’t have completed his journey without my partner.
