#VoiceThisOut

Hi Anu ka,
From more than a month I wanted to share this. Please voice this out ka.

Its really sad that our parents generation were taught that if something hurts or not right, clench your teeth and take it. I think it’s time we put a stop.

I want to share some things I heard from elders post pregnancy

  1. Breast pain is common while feeding. I had bleeding but I fed, clenching my teeth. It’s ok you bear the pain for the baby
  2. What kind of mom are you? Saying you feel like fainting when you feed.
  3. It’s common to have constipation and fissure after pregnancy. You’ll get used to the pain of sitting.
  4. Dont cry, think of the baby. If you cry, baby will fall sick
  5. You have to do pathya for the baby even if you dont like. What kind of mom are you, putting your interests to eat over baby’s health?
  6. It’s ok if you sweat, wear sweater and cap in summer also. Take the heat or else baby will get cold
  7. Depression is common for all moms. We have to just smile, think of baby and be happy.

I hope new moms can question and not blindly follow what’s been told. Especially when something is hurting or doesn’t feel right it is better to check with the doctor instead of tolerating it.
