Hyperemesis gravidarum, Subchronic haemorrhage, low lying placenta , Sunny side up baby
#VrikshamBirthStory
Hi Anu ka, I am your May month labour management student. We are blessed with a girl baby on Aug 9th and it was a normal delivery. I would like to thank my husband and my family for the tremendous physical and moral support. And it was my husband who wanted me to attend your class and he made me enrol it. Your sipper and hot water bag tips were of great help during the labour.
I had severe vomiting from Day 1 of my pregnancy confirmation at home till my labour ward. After a month it turned out to be very bad where I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis gravidarum and got admitted in hospital. Even after returning home ,weekly once I will go to hospital for IV fluids as I was not able to drink water also. I lost 7 kgs in 4 months instead of gaining weight.
Also I had bleeding and when checked with my gynecologist she told it might be implantation bleeding but it lasted for more than a week so had to take scan again and found that I had sub chronic hemorrhage for which again I was taking weekly hormonal injections to avoid miscarriage.
In my NT scan , I was detected with low lying placenta. So I was restricted with minimal activities till my 5th month.
After 6th month my nausea started to reduce and I was able to consume solids but didn’t have good appetite. Then I joined your class and started to trust my body and did breathing exercises. But during my next scans , my weight gain was not adequate so I was informed that baby weight will be less.
In the end of my 8th month scan , baby was in sunny side up position which means labour time will be more and difficult but I kept trusting my body and was communicating with my baby and started spinning exercises for the baby to turn.
On 8th August morning I started to have bleeding and rushed to the hospital. With my consent doctor did Internal examination and told head is not yet fixed and asked to wait till labour pain starts. Same day night labour pain started and gradually increased and I was performing breathing exercises until the pain was unbearable. My husband and sister constantly encouraged me and he kept massaging my back and hip with the hot water bag as you mentioned. Mu husband also made sure I was hydrated. Next day morning got admitted in hospital where I was 3cm dilated. After that there was not much pain but was throwing up what ever I ate. Then I was induced pain in IV fluid and pain started to increase gradually and around 2.45 PM, I had the pushing sensation so informed the doctor and I was taken to labour ward once my water broke.
With so much effort I tried to push the baby during each contractions but baby was moving upwards again after each push so I lost all my energy and was not able to push anymore after ten attempts. And suddenly my temperature also shoot up so I was provided with paracetamol in IV fluid and baby heart beat also increased. Even in that situation my doctor never asked for c section instead she asked the nurses to help me for pushing . With their help I finally pushed the baby at 3.08 PM . As the baby didn’t cry immediately , doctor couldn’t perform delayed cord clamping. And to my surprise baby was 3.1Kg because with so much of vomiting , I Never expected this.
Keep talking to your baby and trust your body is a great mantra! Above all surround yourself with positive energy.
