Hi Anuka..
I am your July 18-19 online labour management student. Here goes my birth story..
I was really active during my pregnancy 🤰🏻 climbed staircase daily, did swimming, walking, duck walk, birth ball exercises and the labour was also smooth🥰

My due date was Aug10th 2020….On 25th july morning 6:30am got mild contractions but I wasn’t sure about it and I ignored and slept off.. Around 7:30am due to the stomach bulging and pain I woke up and asked my husband to touch my stomach to feel the bulges and we decided to call our midwife.. She asked us to count the frequency of my contractions and then I started getting excited knowing it was the labour pain😅 Then i cut my nails and was getting prepared to meet my baby.. Noted the frequency of contractions and informed midwife and she asked us to come to hospital after 3pm..

We then had our lunch and during my contractions I did your breathing exercise and the pain was really bearable.. actually the day before we had a plan to do some shopping.. so we thought on the way to hospital we can finish off the shopping and went for purchasing😅 Nobody could even identify that I was in labour pain and during my contractions I was just walking and doing the breath exercise and during the gap i was so relaxed.

After all these we reached hospital around 5pm and seeing me midwife was actually in doubt if I was having false contractions 😅 She then checked my cervix and it was already 4cm dilated and we were shocked🤭 Then I was shifted to the delivery room and midwife gave a peanut ball to keep in between my thighs so that the cervix will b dilated easily.. She asked if I need epidural.. I said no because I already made up my mind that I want know the labour pain like how our mothers and grandmothers felt in those days…So I didn’t go for the epidural..

After an hour midwife thought she can break my water so that the contractions could be stronger and checked my cervix and to see it was already 8cm dilated and she was like your body is doing it.. so she is not gonna break the water and asked me to inform her if I get the feeling to poo..

But after this cervix checking i got very intense pain and my contractions were continuous without any gap.. I vomited in between and held my hubby’s hands strong.. then after sometime I felt badly like to poo and I was able to talk also and told my hubby and he informed midwife..
Then she checked my cervix and it was completely dilated..
Then she asked me to push whenever I get contractions..
The pushing part was sooo difficult for me that I really saw heaven🥺
Nearly for half an hour I was pushing and I was sweating like anything.. Hubby was wiping my face and midwife was massaging my perineum which I felt so disgusting.. then I was sooo tired and in a push baby’s heartbeat started to raise.. So midwife like they may have to do episiotomy.. I didn’t have energy and agreed for it and all of a sudden I got a strong contractions and gave a strong push with all my energy and baby’s head popped out🤩 then she asked me not to push baby will come on his own😍
Then came my baby boy at 8:39pm 😍
We didn’t do the episiotomy.. It was natural tear.. It was a wonderful experience and your labour class techniques helped me a lot and gave strength mentally🥰

Thankyou so much for your support and Tips Anuka.. really appreciate it😍
